RAG’s state-of-the-art storage facilities are monitored and inspected on an ongoing basis. Highly skilled staff run the installations from a dispatching centre, working around the clock to maximise efficiency and optimise environmental and technical performance.
RAG introduced an internal control system for its storage operations in 2011, meaning that it began systematically collecting, analysing and interpreting all energy-related data. This information feeds into energy-saving programmes. Additionally, in 2013 RAG’s energy management system for its storage operations, which is based on the ÖNORM EN ISO 50001:2011 standard, was evaluated by an external auditor and certified accordingly. Certification in accordance with the standard was extended to the entire group in 2015. This is also in accordance with the provisions of the Bundes-Energieeffizienzgesetz (Federal Energy Efficiency Act), which transposes the EU’s Energy Efficiency Directive (2012/27/EU). In addition, our storage operations have received the Technical Safety Management (Technisches Sicherheitsmanagement, TSM) certificate from the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches e.V., DVGW).
„Cutting-edge process engineering, high-efficiency plants and some of the most stringent safety standards anywhere in Europe, as well as the efforts of our employees ensure that security of supply is ingrained in our day-to-day operations.“
