To meet the growing demand for storage services we are working on the development of new storage projects. We have already proved the suitability of former gas reservoirs in our concession areas Upper Austria/ Lower Austria and Salzburg for their conversion into undeground gas storage facilities.
In the line with storage development the following capacities could be offered in the next years:
Year | Capacity |
|---|---|
2014 | approx. 50.000 m³/h |
2015 | approx. 200.000 m³/h |
The storage capacity of at least 1.000 m³/h can be already requested for a contract duration of up to 20 years. The maximum working gas volume for the required storage capacity has to be calculated as follows: withdrawal rate x 24 h x 70 days.
The indicative fee for storage services (excl. VAT, incl. fuel gas) will be based as possible on the current RAG storage fee. The final fee can only be defined during the process of detailed planing and economic calculation.
As soon as the threshold to develop the respective project has been reached the allocation of capacities starts based on the principle "First Come - First Served".
The delivery point for injection and withdrawal is the respective metering station at the border to the Control area East. As an alternative, a delivery point into the international grid at Baumgarten or Oberkappel may be defined.
Non-binding capacity requests can be already sent to RAG. The form for "Non-binding capacity request at Storage RAG" is available in the download area.
